The brand

Vitesse Global lead the way in their niche, offering a wide range of highly specific engineering capabilities to some of the UK’s biggest automotive manufacturers. They are best known for a range of Mazda MX-5 derived gearboxes, which they painstakiningly redeveloped to allow for fitting into a range of classic MGs, Triumphs and Morgans. However, this is only part of what the company provide to both the industry and the public. The company also holds and procures a large stock of Land Rover parts, for shipment across the UK and further afield.

The challenge

A long-term client of Fifty-Eight Digital, Vitesse Global found themselves poorly served by their Shopify website. The site was unable to handle their complex catalogue of Land Rover parts, meaning that it was time for a new direction – and a new CMS.

The approach

In creating a new website for Vitesse, our first task was to find a design that would modernise their current online offering, without ‘reinventing the wheel’, potentially confusing a slightly older customer base. Once a design was signed off, the significant task of funnelling their catalogue of 30,000 parts onto the website began. It is the company’s intention to run two sites side-by-side for a year or two, building the new one and slowly deprecating the old. As of Summer 2022, this process is ongoing and Fifty-Eight Digital works closely with the team at Vitesse, gradually bringing more and more of its stock online. During this period, we still provide SEO optimisations for the existing Shopify-based website, as well as a broad range of other digital marketing specialisms.
